Our Story
Two men. One continent. A father who climbed every mountain on earth. A son who grew up on the ground in the African bush.
Sibusiso Vilane
He was born in a cattle kraal in rural Swaziland. He had no money, no connections, and no mountaineering experience when he decided to climb Everest. In 2003, he reached the summit and became the first Black African to do so. President Mandela said he was “on top of the world.”
He then went back and did it again, via the more difficult North Ridge. He walked to both Poles. He climbed the highest peak on every continent. He completed the Explorer’s Grand Slam: fewer than 50 people in history have done this.
He is also the author of “To the Top From Nowhere”, a sought-after motivational speaker, and the father of Bavukile. The summit is not the destination. It is the proof that the destination exists.

Bavukile Vilane
He was raised in the southern African bush. Where his father learned endurance from mountains, Bavu learned patience from animals. He tracked lion in the Timbavati before most people his age had left their home city. He knows the Lowveld the way a botanist knows Latin: from the ground, in detail.
He has FGASA qualifications. He also has business qualifications: years in technology and operations before returning to the bush. He built the systems that make extraordinary expeditions logistically possible. He is the reason the details work.
When his father asked him to build this together, he said yes immediately. Not for the business reason, though it is a good one. For the one that matters: he had things to show his father that no mountain could show him.

Sibusiso Vilane born in a cattle kraal in rural Swaziland. His early years defined by the land, the animals, and the distances of southern Africa.
First Black African on Everest
On 25 May 2003, Sibusiso became the first Black African to summit Mount Everest. President Nelson Mandela said he was 'on top of the world' when they met afterward.
North and South Poles
Completed the Three Poles Challenge by walking to both the North and South Poles. No other African had done this.
Seven Summits Complete
Climbed the highest peak on every continent: the Seven Summits Challenge completed. The Explorer's Grand Slam achieved.
Everest North Ridge
Summited Everest again via the more difficult North Ridge. The second time, with more at stake and more to prove to himself.
Bavukile Qualifies as Safari Guide
Bavukile completes his FGASA field guide qualifications in the Greater Kruger. Years of bush knowledge formalised.
Sibu and Bavu Launch Together
Father and son launch their expedition company together. The summit and the savannah, combined. Something that has never been offered before.
